Roads to Close as Work Begins on New Bridges in Clark and Scotland Counties

HANNIBAL - Drivers can soon expect to see contractor crews beginning work on two bridge replacements in Clark and Scotland counties on Routes A and M.  Bleigh Construction Company was awarded the contract for the two bridge replacements earlier this year in the amount of $1,842,191 with a completion date of December 1, 2019.

Route M in Scotland County will close at Indian Creek April 1 so crews can work under safer conditions, as well as provide a quicker turnaround.  The bridge is located 1.1 miles south of Route MM near Rutledge.  The contractor will have 80 calendar days to complete the the new bridge. 

The second bridge replacement is located on Route A in Clark County 2.6 miles south of Missouri Route 136 near Wyaconda.  It is scheduled to begin on April 15 at which time the road will be closed.  The contractor will have 100 calendar days to complete the project.

MoDOT will alert the public about updates on these projects through signs, news releases and social media.
