Public Hearing to Discuss Improvements to Route 160 in Ripley and Butler Counties

SIKESTON - The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing to discuss the location and design of improvements to Route 160 in Ripley and Butler Counties. The briefing will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ripley County Community Partnership located at 209 W. Highway St., Doniphan.

The project will include the construction of alternating passing lanes to include shoulders on Route 160 from Route JJ to Route 67. The project length is 11.3 miles, and the purchase of right of way will be required.

The hearing will provide an opportunity for the public to give their comments on the design. An open-house format will be used and department personnel will be available to answer questions. Written and oral comments will be received at the hearing. Written statements and exhibits will be made a part of the public hearing transcript if received by Friday, Nov. 23, 2012.

Maps, plats and other detailed information prepared by MoDOT will be available for the public inspection and copying at the MoDOT Regional Office at 3956 East Main Street in Willow Springs.
