Public Meeting Scheduled for Upcoming Bollinger County Projects

MoDOT To Discuss Improvements on Routes 34, 91 and C

SIKESTON - The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting regarding improvements to Routes 34, 91 and C in Bollinger County on Monday, July 19.  The meeting will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Woodland Elementary School Gym, located in Marble Hill.

The meeting will have an open-house format, meaning visitors can stop by to talk one-on-one with a member of the project team anytime between 4 and 6 p.m.  No formal presentation will be given.

This will be the second public meeting held to discuss improvements to Route 34 from County Road 500 to the Marble Hill airport.

"At this meeting, the project team will discuss the possibility of raising the elevation of Route 34 at Woodland School to help minimize flooding," said Project Manager Eric Krapf.

Additionally, project team members will be available to discuss replacing a culvert on Route C near Route 51 and bridge rail replacement on the Route 91 bridge over Dry Creek.

The Route C culvert replacement and Route 91 bridge work will involve road closures.  With work on both of the projects expected to begin in fall 2010, MoDOT project teams are working to coordinate schedules to help minimize the impact to travelers.
