This project will replace the bridge over the Petite Saline Creek on Missouri Route 179, 5 miles south of Interstate 70.
Why is this work necessary?
The existing Petite Saline Creek Bridge was built in 1966 and is 53 years old. The condition of the bridge has reached a point where bridge replacement is necessary.
How will traffic be affected?
During construction, Route 179 will be closed at the bridge location for up to five months. Signs will alert motorists of the closed road and a detour will be signed during construction. Drivers are asked to seek alternate routes around the construction.
When will the work take place?
The project is scheduled to be awarded in the spring of 2019, with construction taking place in 2020.
Will additional right of way be needed to construct these projects?
No new right of way will be required.
What will the project cost?
The total cost is approximately $2,097,000.
