Milestones
MoDOT is replacing the current bridge over I-29 on Route 116 in Buchanan County.
The project was part of the September 2019 letting.
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a contract for this project to Clarkson Construction Company in the amount of $1,542,023.15 at their October 2019 meeting.
The contractor's notice to proceed date was Nov. 4, 2019.
The contractor began work with the closure of Route 116 on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020. This closure is planned to continue through May 2020.
For the safety of crew members and motorists during the demolition of the old bridge, I-29 was closed in both directions between Dearborn and Faucett for 24 hours on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.
The bridge reopened to all traffic on Friday, May 29, 2020.

A: Closing the bridge saves taxpayer money by allowing the contractor to work more efficiently. This will result in a shorter construction period.
