ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Buchanan County Route 116 bridge over the Platte River will close soon for a bridge rehabilitation project. Contractors working with the Missouri Department of Transportation will close Route 116 at the Platte River, between Routes E and F, on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, to replace the bridge bearings. The bridge could remain closed through Friday, Feb. 4, 2022.
A signed detour will direct motorists over Routes MM, H and E around the closure.
