Each year, the American Traffic Safety Services Foundation (the Foundation) sponsors a work zone safety poster contest as a public awareness campaign to decrease highway work zone deaths and injuries. Winning posters from each state are entered in the national contest.  Monetary prizes are awarded to state and national winners. The awards are held in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration’s National Work Zone Safety Week in April.
