St. Louis Work Zones for May 25-31

ST. LOUIS – To help ease travels for the unofficial start of summer, the Missouri Department of Transportation will be avoiding construction lane closures during Memorial Day weekend.

The department will limit construction work zones between noon on Friday, May 26 and 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 30. However, lane closures behind barriers, such as the lane closures on northbound and southbound I-55 between the I-44/I-55 split and the PSB will remain closed. Drivers may experience short term lane closures for emergency maintenance work, such as pothole repairs.

On Thursday, May 25, crews will close the Big Bend bridge over I-270 before morning rush. Drivers can use local roads to detour around the three-month closure

After the Memorial Day weekend, crews will close one lane around the clock on the eastbound Poplar Street Bridge between St. Louis and Illinois. At 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, MoDOT will close the 6th Street ramp to the eastbound PSB to move barrier and clean the ramp. At the same time, they will close two left lanes across the Poplar Street Bridge to install concrete barrier to close the left lane of eastbound Poplar Street Bridge across the bridge into Illinois. One lane will reopen by 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, the far left lane will remain closed around the clock.

For additional work zone information and real-time roadway weather conditions, go to http://traveler.modot.org/map.  For real-time traffic, visit www.gatewayguide.com. All work is weather permitting and may be shifted due to inclement weather.
