St. Louis Work Zones for November 24-30
Motorists Traveling on I-70 Should Plan Ahead for Delays on Sunday

ST. LOUIS – To help motorists travel around the state for the Thanksgiving holiday, the Missouri Department of Transportation will restrict construction on interstates and state highways. Crews will stop work from noon on Wednesday, November 23 until 9 a.m. on Monday, November 28.  Restrictions will remain in place in areas where there are permanent barriers, such as eastbound I-70 between Route 94 and Fifth Street in St. Charles County.

Motorists who plan on traveling I-70 on Sunday, November 27 should plan ahead for an increase in traffic, especially between Columbia and the St. Louis area.  The average speed on I-70 on the Sunday after Thanksgiving 2015 was about 35 mph between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. due in part to many students heading back to the colleges and universities in mid-Missouri.

Drivers can plan ahead by checking MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map at www.modot.org or calling the 24-hour, toll-free customer service line at 888-ASK-MODOT.

All work is weather permitting and may be shifted due to inclement weather.  For additional work zone information and real-time roadway weather conditions, go to http://traveler.modot.org/map.  For real time traffic, visit www.gatewayguide.com
