MoDOT Delays Route H Closure over Big River to Week of June 17, Weather Permitting

JEFFERSON COUNTY -The Missouri Department of Transportation has delayed the closure of the Route H bridge over the Big River near DeSoto to the week of June 17, weather permitting. With already saturated ground conditions and more rain anticipated this week, MoDOT is rescheduling this road closure. The bridge will be closed for approximately two months this summer.

Motorists can detour to Route 21 to Route Y to Route WW while this section of Route H is closed. As part of ongoing work to improve safety on state owned bridges, MoDOT will replace the bridge driving surface and add a foot to each lane.

MoDOT has been in contact with the local school districts and emergency responders regarding this construction schedule. This project was awarded to Krupp Construction for approximately $1.2 million.

Plan ahead -- for ways to avoid work zones, call 1-888-ASK-MODOT or visit our website at www.modot.org/
