ST. LOUIS - The Missouri Department of Transportation and its contractor, R.V. Wagner Inc., will close lanes on the Westport Overpass over Route D (Page Ave.) to repair and rehabilitate the bridge.
Starting March 16, 2009, crews will close the southbound lanes of Westport Overpass. To keep traffic flowing in both directions over the overpass, crews will close one lane in each direction and shift southbound traffic onto one of the northbound lanes. After completing the work on those southbound lanes, crews will shift traffic to the new lanes and close the northbound lanes of the overpass. Traffic on the overpass should return to normal on May 12, 2009.
After work on the bridge is complete, crews will close two lanes on Route D (Page Ave.) nightly to paint the bridge. Lane closures on Route D should start in mid-May, from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Work on the $332,000 project should be complete by mid-June 2009.
Motorists may experience delays during this work. Plan ahead to avoid work zones by calling
