MoDOT to support traffic flow during BMW Championship

ST. LOUIS -The Missouri Department of Transportation is standing by to support smooth traffic flow efforts during the BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club Sept. 2 through Sept. 7. Organizers expect more than 25,000 vehicles to enter and depart the event during the six day championship.

Crews will restripe Route 141 between I-64 and Ladue, and will install lane control indicators to help move traffic quickly and smoothly. During the tournament, Ladue Road will be closed from Mason to Route 141 between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m., except for vehicles bearing the appropriate hang-tag identification. Mason Road will be closed from north of Ladue Road to West Walling Drive from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. the week of the tournament.

The public can access the championship from Exit 23 on I-64 westbound; they can access the championship from eastbound I-64 at Exit 22.  Spectators will take Route 141 north to Ladue Road, turn right onto Ladue and proceed to the public parking lot on Hunter Farms.

Between 6 a.m. and early afternoon., there will be two lanes northbound (into the tournament) and one lane southbound (exiting the tournament) on Route 141. Between early afternoon and 8 p.m., there will be two lanes southbound (exiting the tournament) and one lane northbound (into the tournament) on Route 141. Overhead lane control indicators will show whether the lane is open or closed to traffic in that direction.

MoDOT officials will continuously monitor the area to ensure traffic continues to flow smoothly and to respond to incidents.
