ST. LOUIS - Traffic on the interstates continued to flow well for morning rush on the third day of the
I-64 closure. Speeds on the interstates were good, traveling greater than 45 mph. Friday morning typically has lighter volumes than the other weekdays.
"This morning was the third day of good rush hours. We want to thank everyone for changing their habits to ensure success," said MoDOT District Engineer Ed Hassinger. "By flexing work hours, carpooling and using Metro, we are not experiencing problems on the region's interstates."
Hassinger noted the only minor problems continue to focus on incidents. Motorists are reminded when they are in a minor incident with no injuries, they are required to move their vehicles off the road to a safe location and then exchange information and call the police.
