Planned Construction in St. Charles County in 2008

I-64 at Missouri Research Park. – Construct new exit ramp from eastbound I-64. This work should run from spring 2008 to summer 2008. Drivers can expect some lane closures during non-peak travel times during the day. There should be minimal impacts to traffic.

I-64 and Route 370 – Install traffic sensors and cameras. This project will install intelligent transportation system devices along I-64 from Route K to I-70 and Route 370 from the Missouri River to I-70. Work should begin in summer 2008. There should be minimal impacts to traffic.

Route 40/61 from west of Lake St. Louis Blvd. to east of I-70. Upgrade to interstate. This will eliminate all at-grade crossings and construct a new interchange, with overpass, at Prospect Road. Construction has begun and will run through Fall 2009. Drivers can expect permanent local road closures through the end of the project and occasional lane closures during non-peak traffic times. There should be a moderate impact to traffic.

Route 61 at McCoy Creek – Bridge widening and rehabs. Construction will begin in early 2008 and should be complete by summer 2008. Drivers can expect some lane closures during non-peak travel times and some permanent restrictions. There should be a moderate impact to traffic.

Route 94 from south of I-64 to south of Route D – Pavement repair and resurfacing. This project runs from spring 2008 to summer 2008. Drivers can expect Route 94 in this area to be reduced to a one-lane road, with flaggers, at night during non-peak times. There should be moderate impacts to traffic. This job also includes portions of the I-64 outer road that runs past the commuter parking lot into Missouri Research Park.

Route 94 from 5th Street to Route B – Pavement repair, widening and resurfacing. Construction will start in fall 2008 and will include a turn lane between Little Hills Expressway and Fox Hill Road. Drivers can expect Route 94 in this area to be reduced to a one-lane road, with flaggers, at night during non-peak times for repair and resurfacing work. There may also be shoulder or lane restrictions during the day. There should be moderate impacts to traffic.

Route 364, east and west of Harvester road.  Extending Route 364 and the one-way outer road system. This project will build an overpass for Harvester Road. There will be some lane restrictions. Traffic should shift from Route 94 to the new Route 364 outer roads by August 2008. This project will run through fall 2009. There may be a significant impact to traffic.

Route D, Callaway Fork Road to 1.2 miles west. – Add shoulders. Work should begin in summer 2008. Drivers can expect Route D in this area to be reduced to a one-lane road, with flaggers, during daytime non-peak travel times. There should be minimal impacts to traffic.

Route N from Spring Orchard to Meadowlake. Construct a center turning lane and shoulders. The project involves temporary lane restrictions and closures until spring 2008. There should be a moderate impact to traffic.
