St. Louis City Construction - 2017

I-44 bridge rehabilitation – This project removes and replaces the driving surface from Murdoch to the River Des Peres and replaces the bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad. During construction the ramp from Shrewsbury to eastbound I-44 will be closed. One I-44 lane in each direction will be closed around the clock during bridge construction. The project starts in 2017 and will be completed in 2018.

I-55 bridge rehabilitation – This project rehabilitates the southbound and northbound bridges over the 3rd Street Viaduct as well as the ramps between the interstate and 7th and 8th streets. Work has begun and will be finished in late 2017.

I-55 ramp resurface – This project places a high friction driving surface on the ramp from northbound I-55 to westbound I-44. It starts in summer and has been completed.

I-64 Poplar Street Bridge wideningThis project adds an eastbound lane to the Poplar Street Bridge, adds a second lane to the NB I-55 ramp, and extends the 6th Street ramp into Illinois. Work will also overlay the eastbound lanes and repaint the bridge. Work starts in early 2017 and should be complete in fall 2018.

I-70 Express Lanes resurfacing– This project removes and replaces the driving surface on the express lanes between Kingshighway on I-70 and Broadway on I-44. This project starts in early 2017 and has been completed.

I-70 at Carrie ramp relocation – This project removes the westbound exit ramp at North Broadway and relocates it to Carrie Avenue. The work starts in fall 2017 and will be completed by the end of the year.

Route 30 resurfacingThis project removes and replaces the driving surface on Route 30 from the city limits to I-55. It includes replacing 11 existing traffic signals. The project will be finished in fall 2017.
