St. Louis City Construction  - 2014-2016

The following construction projects are projected to be underway in St. Louis City between in 2015 and 2016. 


I-44 Park Over the Highway project – This project constructs the Park Over the Highway portion of improvements related to the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Park. It includes work on Memorial Drive and I-44  from the Illinois ramps to Washington Avenue and on I-44 from the Poplar Street Bridge to Broadway . Part of CityArchRiver 2015.

I-44 reconstruction – This project rebuilds the ramps between the Poplar Street Bridge and Washington Avenue and makes infrastructure improvements between Washington Avenue and the Martin Luther King Bridge. Work is part of CityArchRiver2015.

I-44 Compton Avenue Bridge work – This project redecks the Compton Avenue Bridge over I-44. Work is ongoing and will be complete by summer of 2015.

I-44 pavement and bridge rehabilitation—This project rehabilitates five bridges and the pavement between Murdoch and Kingshighway. Includes the bridges at Laclede Station, River Des Peres, Southwest, Hampton, Sublette and two bridges over railroads. Work will start in fall 2015 and be complete by fall 2016.

I-64 Poplar Street Bridge project – This project removes and replaces the ramps from the Poplar Street Bridge to the future eastbound I-44 and between the Poplar Street Bridge and I-55.  This work will be complete in summer 2015.

Route 30 (Gravois) signal work – This project updates signals and improves detection at various intersections between I-55 and Grand Boulevard.  Includes the signals at Grand, Cherokee, Utah, Compton/Wyoming, Nebraska, California, Lynch/Ohio, McNair, Jefferson, Russell/I-55 and 12th/Geyer/I-55 ramp. Work starts in summer 2015 and will be complete in summer 2016.

Route 100 (Chouteau) pavement work – This work overlays the driving surface from Spring Avenue to I-55. The project also includes pedestrian improvements along the route. This project includes cyclist facilities as outlined by the Gateway Bike Plan. Work starts in spring 2015 and is finished in summer.

Route 115 intersection work – This project updates signals, lighting and pedestrian crossings at Goodfellow, Clara, Belt, Schnuck’s Plaza, Union and Kinghighway.  Work is ongoing and will be complete in early 2015.

Route D (Page Ave) safety work – This project makes safety improvements and updates signals at North Euclid, Walton, Taylor, Sarah, Vandeventer, GH Pruitt and North Spring, Hamilton Avenue, Goodfellow Boulevard and Whittier Street ,14th Street, Jefferson Street, Martin Luther King Drive and Pendleton. Work begins Early 2015 and is complete in fall.
