Route FF Safety Improvement Project
***IMPORTANT TRAFFIC NOTE***
On Thursday, June 12, MoDOT closed one lane of traffic on Route FF in the area of the Myron and Sonya Glassberg Family Conservation Area, which is located between John McKeever Road and Lynch Road. The closure is necessary so crews can lengthen a large culvert pipe as part of the ongoing safety improvement project being done on Route FF. MoDOT will be installing a temporary traffic signal on Route FF at the conservation area to safely guide traffic through the workzone.
Why Does FF Need Improvements?
Portions of Route FF near Eureka need safety improvements and modifications to help reduce crashes.
What Improvements of Route FF Are Being Proposed?
MoDOT will make curve corrections at three locations along Route FF.
- just west of Wilderness Trails Drive
- at Tall Oaks Drive
- just north of Route F
MoDOT will also add two-foot shoulders and resurface Route FF from Route 109 to Route F. Guardrails will be installed along the highway at various locations.
How Will Traffic Be Impacted While Construction Is Under Way?
There will be daily lane closures with flagging operations in various areas. Also be on the lookout for temporary traffic signals for some longer duration work in the coming weeks and months.
Below are two detour maps to help get around the closures.
Detour map 1 (for work between John McKeever Road and Route 109)
Detour map 2 (for work between Lynch Road and John McKeever Road)
When Will Construction Take Place?
Construction began in mid-May and be completed by late October 2014.
Estimated Project Cost
The project was awarded to Gershenson Construction for $1.7 million.
