Route B Safety Improvement Project

Crews will be replacing four culverts on Route B between Route EE and Route 30 starting the week of November 3. Updates on closures locations, times and dates will be updated here.
Why Does Route B Need Improvements?
Roadway improvements and resurfacing upgrades are needed to address safety concerns and preserve the life of Route B.
What Improvements are Being Proposed?
MoDOT will replace culverts, add shoulders, resurface and make curve corrections on Route B between Hillsboro and Route 30.
How Will Traffic Be Impacted While Construction Is Under Way?
One lane closures with flagging operations are possible during off-peak travel times. Full closures may be necessary during culvert replacement.
When Will the Improvements Be Completed?
Work is completed on the stretch of road from Hillsboro to Big River. Work will begin in the fall of 2014 on the stretch from Big River to Route 30. All work is scheduled to be completed by August 2015.
What is the Estimated Project Cost?
The project was awarded to N.B. West for $3.7 million.
