Why does Route A need to be improved?
Roadway improvements and resurfacing upgrades to Route A are needed to address safety concerns and preserve the life of the pavement.
What improvements are being done?
MoDOT will make safety improvements in two phases on Route A from Union to Washington. The improvements include new culverts, adding two-foot shoulders and a new driving surface. In addition, guardrail will be put up in some locations.
When will the project be complete?
Work began on the segment from Union to Krakow in spring 2014 and was completed in October 2014. Work will begin in 2015 on the stretch from Washington to Krakow. All work is expected to be completed in October 2015.
What is the estimated project cost?
This project was awarded to NB West for approximately $2.4 million.
