MoDOT Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for Route 67 (ARRA) Project
The Missouri Department of Transportation and its contractor XL Contracting Inc. has scheduled a ground breaking ceremony for the Route 67 (Lindbergh Boulevard) project. The ceremony will take place Friday, September 11, 2009 at 11 a.m. at 6008 North Lindbergh, south of Chapel Ridge in the city of Hazelwood. The public and media can park in the Maid Brands lot.
The Route 67 project upgrades pedestrian facilities, improving and adding sidewalks and curb ramps, pedestrian crossings, and upgraded access to bus stops. It also allows for better access for persons with disabilities.
This $1.67 million project uses funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission Awards Route 67 Project
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded the Route 67 project during its August meeting. The Route 67 (Lindbergh Boulevard) project
consists of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrades, improvements to sidewalks, curb ramps and pedestrian signals on Route 67 from north of Dorsett Road to Route 180 (St. Charles Rock Road) and from south of McDonnell Boulevard to I-270.
This project was awarded to X-L Contracting Inc. (St. Peters, MO) for $1,667,728.99. This project is expected to begin in September 2009 and should be completed by May 2010.
