WHAT'S HAPPENING?
MoDOT and the Jefferson County Commissioners have been working together to close the intersection of Route 30 and Schumacher Road.
The closure is completed -- there is currently no access to westbound Rte. 30 from Schumacher Road. Travelers may make a right turn from Schumacher onto eastboundRte. 30, or a right turn from eastbound Rte. 30 onto Schumacher.
Travelers on Schumacher Road who want to access westbound Rte. 30 need to make a right turn onto Rte. 30, travel to Caroline Road, make a legal U-turn at the signalized intersection (i.e. the signal must be green) and continue westbound on Rte. 30. Travelers on Rte. 30 who wish to access Schumacher Road need to travel to High Ridge Blvd., make a legal U-turn at the signalized intersection (i.e. the signal must be green) and continue eastbound on Rte. 30, making a right turn onto Schumacher Road.
The intersection of Rte. 30 and Schumacher Road has triple the state's average crash rate for a similar expressway.
