ROUTE 100/MANCHESTER ROAD GREAT STREETS PROJECT (BALLWIN/ELLISVILLE/WILDWOOD)
The Missouri Department of Transportation in cooperation with the cities of Ballwin, Ellisville and Wildwood and the West County Chamber of Commerce have developed the Great Streets Project to improve safety and traffic flow on Manchester Road.
What's the latest update:
There are two projects in west St. Louis County involving sections of Route 100. The first is a resurfacing project and sidewalk improvement project between West Glen Farm Drive and Route 141; the second is the Great Streets project in Ballwin, Ellisville and Wildwood. Work on the resurfacing portion of the project began in August 2014. Work on the Manchester Road Great Streets project began in November 2014. Work on both projects will continue through late 2015.
The $15.5 million contract was awarded to Krupp Construction in Ellisville.
The Manchester Road Great Streets project involves median access changes, sidewalk improvements, and enhancements to Manchester Road such as wayfinding signage, illuminated street name signs and landscaping. It also includes a multi-use trail extension from Wildwood into Ellisville.
The Great Streets initiative is a process to integrate land use and the transportation network to support a cohesive system to support the local community’s vision. This project is implementing components as set forth in the East West Gateway Council of Government's Manchester Road Great Streets Master Plan completed in January 2011
