How do I use Map My Trip?
First, type the address you are leaving from in the boxes underneath “A.” Then, check our popular destinations to see if your destination is included there. If so, select the destination and it will be loaded into program. If not, type the address you are traveling to in the boxes under “B.” Be as complete as possible; Map My Trip will work better if you include the city and state information. After all the information is put in, press the “Map My Trip” button to get directed around any road or ramp closures in St. Louis City or County. After looking at your map, you may choose to get another destination or exit.
Can I use Map My Trip for anywhere in the country?
Sure! However, road closure information is only available for St. Louis City and County.
Will this route me around other traffic congestion?
Map My Trip only covers interstate and state road and ramp closures through St. Louis City and County. It will not reroute you around work zones, traffic slowdowns or other traffic incidents. Check for traffic information on www.GatewayGuide.com or by calling 511 (or 477-478-5511 (4STL-511) for information on current traffic slowdowns and incidents.
Can I put Map My Trip on my website to get people to my business through the I-64 reconstruction process?
Absolutely! Here’s how you do it.

How do I get a closeup of any turns I need to use on my trip?
Click on the “Map” option by any turn. It will show you a zoomed in map of your route.
How long is the information on Map My Trip good for?
Information on Map My Trip changes regularly – we constantly add new ramp or road closures and remove those that have reopened. The best rule of thumb is to get your map the day you intend to travel; that will ensure the information is as accurate as possible.
Is this the fastest route?
The routes on Map My Trip are a suggested route using major routes and roadways and don’t include information for real-time traffic delays. There may be quicker or additional routes to get to your destination. Information displayed on Map My Trip does include all currently open routes.
Will this include information on road closures due to flooding, snow, or other natural disasters?
Due to the rapid changes of information due to natural events, we will not be able to have this information available on Map My Trip. However, when we have major flooding or similar weather related closures, MoDOT does post them on the MoDOT website at www.modot.org.
When will you include information on road closures in other counties?
Currently, there are no plans to include road closures in other counties in Missouri. However, based on the usage for Map My Trip, we may consider incorporating additional road closure information to help customers get around.
