Construction brings traffic impacts to I-44 in St. Louis City, County

Congestion along I-44Crews are starting several projects along I-44 in St. Louis City and St. Louis County that will impact traffic, especially westbound commuters along I-44.  Work has begun on the project to replace the eastbound I-44 bridge over the BNSF railroad, near Shrewsbury.  Two westbound lanes and one eastbound lane, as well as the ramp from Shrewsbury to eastbound I-44 will be closed around the clock. Drivers should consider alternate routes, telecommuting or shifting their commute where possible, or using transit, rideshare or carpools.

Crews have also started work to renovate bridges between Kingshighway and 39th Street.  For more on the construction along I-44, you can check out the information in the MoDOT St. Louis blog or our I-44 corridor construction webpage.
