What does design-build project mean?

Design-build is a delivery method that includes hiring one contracting team to complete the design work and build the highway improvement under one contract.  MoDOT provides the project goals, budget and schedule and the contractor team completes the work. This technique has been known to significantly save time and provide cost savings.  For more information on design-build, click here.

What are the goals of the project?

The following prioritized goals have been established for the project:

1. Deliver the project within the budget of $24.11 million.
2. Reduce fatal and serious injury crashes by maximizing safety improvements.
3. Deliver all improvements with a reasonable service life and low maintenance cost.
4. Minimize impacts to the public during and after construction.
5. Complete construction on the project by October 1, 2019.
