St. Louis District Safety Project Contractor Information

Project Updates (updated 05/04)

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has selected NB West Contracting Company’s proposal has the apparent best value to design and build the $24 million project.  They are partnered with Horner & Shifrin, Inc., Lochmueller Group and Engineering Design Source Inc.  Click here to see the full press release on the announcement.

Design build is a project delivery method that combines both the design and construction phases into one contract.  This one contract team completes design and construction in parallel, instead of in succession, which saves time and resources.

MoDOT has established design-build goals for the project.  The contractor team who best meets or beats the following goals will be selected as the winning proposal:

1. Deliver the project within the budget of $24.11 million.
2. Reduce fatal and serious injury crashes by maximizing safety improvements.
3. Deliver all improvements with a reasonable service life and low maintenance cost.
4. Minimize impacts to the public during and after construction.
5. Complete construction on the project by October 1, 2019.
