MoDOT Road Report for Tueday, Feb.9
TRAVEL ADVISORY:
- Snow Removal:
If snow accumulates Monday night into Tuesday morning, MoDOT crews will plow state roads, working throughout the day Tuesday.
Snowplows will run to keep roads driveable, especially the busiest highways. Still, a number of roads may be snow-covered in areas until it stops snowing.
Drivers are urged to drive according to conditions they find on the pavement. Slow down. Don't follow too closely. Avoid sudden stops and turns.
Roads will not be completely cleared until after the storm passes through the area.
Check road conditions by visiting MoDOT's Traveler Information Map at www.modot.org . Or call MoDOT at 1-888-275-6636 or 417-895-7600 (Springfield district office).
- Road Work:
As road crews work to complete the plowing Tuesday, workers may be able to resume normal activities. That will include patching potholes on many roads. The snow and ice freeze-thaw cycle damages pavement and repairs will be needed. Watch for lane closings or one-lane traffic on some roads.
Other work may be resumed Tuesday, including brush cutting and tree trimming, culvert repairs and sign replacement on various state highways.
