DISTRICT 8, SPRINGFIELD - Lanes closings are scheduled at night the week of June 28 on the widening project at Glenstone Avenue and Sunshine Street in Springfield.

The northbound right-hand lane of Glenstone Avenue north of Sunshine Street will be closed at 7 p.m. every day during the week and re-opened by 6 a.m. the next day. A water line is being relocated.

No THROUGH lanes will be closed during daytime hours.

During the day, work to build new curbs will take place on the southwest and southeast corners of the intersection. New driveway approaches are being built along southbound and northbound Glenstone Avenue just south of Sunshine Street.

This is part of a cooperative MoDOT/City of Springfield project to widen the intersection, adding left-turn lanes, realigning right-turn lanes and installing new traffic signals and street lighting.

The project is scheduled to shut down by mid-day Friday, July 2, to avoid disruptions during the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Work will resume mid-morning Tuesday, July 6.
