DISTRICT 8, SPRINGFIELD - The northbound right-hand lane of Glenstone Avenue north of Sunshine Street is scheduled to be closed between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, and again Thursday, August 12, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
A contractor crew will pour concrete to build new curb and gutter on the north end of the ongoing project to widen the busy southeast Springfield intersection.
Other work planned during the week of August 9 will take place AWAY from traffic:
* Business entrances along the northbound lanes of Glenstone Avenue north of Sunshine Street will be rebuilt half at a time.
* Temporary traffic signal poles will be installed in the corner islands.
* The right-turn lanes at all four corners of the intersection remain closed. Drivers will have to make right turns at the intersection.
No through lanes will be closed during the day.
This is part of a cooperative MoDOT/City of Springfield project to add left-turn lanes, realign right-turn lanes and install new traffic signals and street lighting.
