Route 32 between Bolivar and Buffalo will get a "chip-seal" driving surface in a project scheduled to begin Wednesday or Thursday, August 25 and 26, and be completed by Wednesday, September 1.
The pavement preservation operation is planned to run Wednesday, August 25, through Thursday, August 26, and again between Monday, August 30, through Wednesday, September 1.
Drivers can expect one-lane traffic where the work is being done each day between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Flaggers and a pilot car will guide drivers through the work zone.
Rain will cause delays in the work schedule.
Missouri Department of Transportation maintenance forces plan to do the work in this pattern:
* Eastbound lane between Polk County Route H at Halfway and Route 65 at Buffalo.
* Westbound lane between Route 65 at Buffalo and the Bolivar city limits.
* Eastbound lane between the Bolivar city limits and Route H at Halfway.
The operation involves laying down oil and rock, compressing the new road surface with a pneumatic roller and sweeping loose material off the roadway.
Every effort will be made to broom loose rock off the pavement. However, gravel may remain on the driving surface and people are urged to drive slowly.
When the work is completed, Route 32 will have a new driving surface that is sealed to keep out moisture.
