"Chip-Seal" Resurfacing Project
Set for Route 413 North of Crane
DISTRICT 8, SPRINGFIELD - Route 413 between U.S. 60 and Crane will get a "chip-seal" driving surface in a project scheduled to begin the week of August 9 and be completed by Wednesday, August 18.
The operation is planned to run Tuesday, August 10, through Thursday, August 12, and again between Monday, August 16, through Wednesday, August 18.
However, rain will cause delays in the work schedule.
Missouri Department of Transportation maintenance forces plans to start the project at U.S. 60 and work south into Crane, ending at about Hemphill Avenue.
Drivers can expect one-lane traffic where the work is being done each day between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone.
The operation involves laying down oil and rock, compressing the new road surface with pneumatic rollers and sweeping loose material off the roadway.
Route 413 will have a new driving surface that also will seal cracks to keep out moisture and prolong the life of the pavement. |
