Republic: Final Layer of
Asphalt
To Be Laid on U.S. 60/Route 413

8, SPRINGFIELD - Drivers can expect lane shifts
during the week of November 1 on U.S. 60/Route 413 in
Republic, the Missouri Department of Transportation
said.
Crews are scheduled to lay the final layer of asphalt
on the newly widened highway.
Once the paving is complete, pavement stripes will be
painted.
During the striping work, traffic shifts are likely.
Lane closings are possible at Hines and Elm streets
when crews work to install new traffic signals.
Other work scheduled will take place AWAY from traffic.
Concrete will be poured for sidewalks and sod will be
laid.
No night work is planned for the week.
Week of November 8
Crews are scheduled to continue work on the new traffic
signals at Hines and Elm streets. Lanes will be closed
where crews are set up.
Street lighting will be installed along U.S. 60/Route
413.
Concrete will be poured for sidewalks, with working
taking place AWAY from traffic.
No night work is planned for the week.
Rain will cause delays in the project.
Background
The prime contractor on the $6.1-million widening project
along U.S.60/Route 413 in Republic is Journagan Construction
of Springfield. Some sewer and water line work is being
done by the City of Republic, a partner with MoDOT on
the project.
The project involves adding a lane in each direction
and rebuilding city street approaches and driveway entrances
between Hines Street and West Avenue, with work continuing
into the fall. |
