Republic: Route 60/413
Lane Closings
Needed as Project Nears Completion

*DISTRICT 8, SPRINGFIELD
- Drivers can expect lane closings and lane
shifts at various locations along U.S. 60/Route 413
during the weeks of November 22 and 29 as the project
to widen the highway nears completion, the Missouri
Department of Transportation said.
Several operations are planned:
* Contractor crews will install wiring for new traffic
signals, repair sidewalks and install new road signs
on the new concrete medians.
* Empire District Electric crews will install new street
lighting.
* MoDOT striping crews will paint new concrete medians.
* Sod will be laid at various locations along the shoulders
-- AWAY from traffic.
No night work is planned for either week.
Rain will cause delays in the project. Background
The prime contractor on the $6.1-million widening project
along U.S.60/Route 413 in Republic is Journagan Construction
of Springfield. Some sewer and water line work is being
done by the City of Republic, a partner with MoDOT on
the project.
The project involves adding a lane in each direction
and rebuilding city street approaches and driveway entrances
between Hines Street and West Avenue, with work continuing
through November |
