DISTRICT 8, SPRINGFIELD - The new Route 13/Route T interchange and a new section of northbound Route 13 are scheduled to be open to traffic the week of August 2, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
However, drivers will NOT be able to use the new section of Route T on the east side of the interchange. More work must be completed along that roadway before it can be opened to traffic.
Here's a look at what will be opened and when, although, rain will cause delays in this schedule:
* On Monday, August 2, crews are scheduled to finish striping a new section of the northbound lanes of Route 13 over Route T.
* On Tuesday, August 3, the new section of Route 13 northbound lanes will be opened to traffic.
* On Tuesday and Wednesday, August 2 and 3, crews are scheduled to finish striping the new Route T interchange.
* On Thursday or Friday, August 4 or 5, the interchange is scheduled to be opened. Drivers using the interchange to enter or leave Bolivar will have to use Route T to the WEST of the interchange since Route T to the EAST will still be closed.
* When the new Route 13/T interchange is opened late in the week, the traffic signals on Route 13 at existing Route T will be turned off and the intersection closed.
Route 13 is being widened to four lanes between Route 83/Business 13 and a point north of Route 32, with new interchanges being built at Route 83/Business 13, Route T and Route 32.
APAC-Missouri of Columbia is the prime contractor on the $21.6-million project which is scheduled for completion this fall.
