DISTRICT 8, SPRINGFIELD - Drivers can expect lane closings during nighttime hours at Glenstone Avenue and Sunshine Street in Springfield July 6-9, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
The northbound right-hand lane of Glenstone Avenue north of Sunshine Street will be closed at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and possibly Friday and re-opened by 6 a.m. the next day. A water line is being relocated.
Other work includes:
* Existing curbs removed and forms set for new concrete curbs along southbound Glenstone Avenue north of Sunshine Street. This daytime work will take place AWAY from traffic.
* New concrete approaches poured for driveways on eastbound Sunshine Street east of Glenstone Avenue. This daytime work will take place AWAY from traffic.
No through lanes will be closed during the day.
This is part of a cooperative MoDOT/City of Springfield project to widen the intersection, adding left-turn lanes, realigning right-turn lanes and installing new traffic signals and street lighting.
