A project began in August 2009 to upgrade sidewalk ramps along Route 76 (Country Music Boulevard) between Roark Valley Road and Gretna Road in Branson.
One lane of Route 76 will be blocked over a short distance in areas where crews are working, but traffic from the closed lane will be shifted to the center turn lane. That means two-way traffic will be maintained.
Crews will complete the work on the north side of Route 76. When the ramps are completed there, the work will move to the south side.
The project work schedule is 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.
Contractor crews are rebuilding 393 sidewalk ramps at street and driveway entrances along Route 76 to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Interstate Improvements, Inc., of Minnesota is doing the work for a low bid amount of $680,000.
The project is scheduled for completion by November 20, 2009. However, the contractor hopes to have the project completed well before that date.
The project is being paid for with funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
