Project:
• Location: West side of Lebanon
• Existing bridge built in 1955; 2 lanes each 11 feet wide; 224 feet long
• New bridge: 3 lanes each 12 feet wide, with 2 10-foot wide shoulders; 280-plus feet long; 8 feet higher than existing bridge for clearance on I-44 of 17 feet-plus
• Westbound off ramp realigned to four-way intersection with Elm Street (Loop 44) and Route W
• Left-turn lanes added on Elm Street at westbound and eastbound ramps
• Signals installed at ramps on both sides of I-44
• Construction: Summer 2007-Summer 2008
• Cost estimate: $6 million, with MoDOT and the City of Lebanon joining in cost-sharing partnership
Traffic Impacts:
• Road over I-44 closed between January 7, 2008 and May 21, 2008 to tear down existing bridge and build new one
