MoDOT, District 8, Springfield -- The speed limit on Glenstone Avenue between Primrose Street and James River Freeway in Springfield will be reduced to 45 mph on Wednesday, March 2, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
An increase in traffic volume and a crash rate that has increased over the last three years were determining factors in a decision to reduce the speed limit (from 50 mph) on this nearly one-mile long section of roadway.
The speed limit on Glenstone Avenue north of Primrose Street is 40 mph.
MoDOT sign crews are scheduled to install the new speed limit signs on Wednesday morning.
Glenstone Avenue carries Business Route 65.
