Route 249 Road Construction (Jasper County)

• The contractor is building bridges on Route 249. The speed limit is 35 mph on Newman Road and Zora Street.

General Maintenance/Construction Projects

Range Line Road/20th Street Intersection Improvements (Jasper County)

• The contractor is constructing curb and gutter and paved entrances on Range Line from 17th Street to 26th Street all week from 7 p.m.-7:30 a.m. Estimated completion date for the intersection improvements is Nov. 1, 2007.

Route FF/71 South Ramp Closure (Jasper County)

• The eastbound Route FF to southbound Route 71 ramp near Flying J is closed Tuesday-Thursday for repairs. The detour is Route 71 South to Route V, then Route 71 North to Route FF.

I-44 Pavement Repairs (Jasper County)

• The eastbound driving lane of I-44 is closed at the Business Loop near Sarcoxie Monday-Wednesday for pavement repairs.

Route 39 Intersection Improvements (Lawrence County)

• Route 39 is set to reopen May 21 or May 22. It was closed to relocate the railroad crossings at High Street and perform sight-grading improvements on Rte 39.

Route 96 Pavement Repairs (Lawrence County)

• Route 96 is reduced to one lane all week from Route M to I-44 for pavement repairs.

Route 96 Bridge Maintenance (Lawrence County)

• Route 96 is reduced to one lane near Route 97 Tuesday-Friday for bridge maintenance.

Route 71 Improvements (McDonald County)

• The contractor is laying asphalt and installing signs on Route 71.

Route 43 Resurfacing (Newton County)

• The contractor is resurfacing Route 43 from Route C to Route U beginning Monday from 3 a.m.-3 p.m.

I-44 Welcome Center Construction (Newton County)

• The eastbound and westbound rest areas on I-44 near the Oklahoma state line are closed. The eastbound rest area is scheduled to reopen as a welcome center by the end of October 2007. A truck parking lot is planned for the westbound side with no restroom facilities.

MoDOT’s Barry County Maintenance Activities

• The Cassville crew is cutting brush, mowing and spraying weeds on various routes.
• The crew in Jenkins is mowing on various routes.

• The Monett crew is mowing, spraying weeds and picking up brush on various routes.
• MoDOT striping crews are painting pavement stripes on Route 39.

MoDOT’s Jasper County Maintenance Activities

• The Avilla, Carl Junction, Carthage and Joplin crews are mowing and patching pavement on various routes.
• The Jasper crew is installing drainage pipes on Barton County Routes T and 126, and on Jasper County Route H.

MoDOT’s Lawrence County Maintenance Activities

• The crew in Mt. Vernon is mowing and patching pavement on various routes.
• The crew in Phelps is mowing on all routes.
• MoDOT striping crews are painting pavement stripes on Route 39.

MoDOT’s McDonald County Maintenance Activities

• The Anderson crew is mowing and patching pavement on various routes.
• The crew in Longview is replacing a drainage pipe on Route 43.
• MoDOT striping crews are painting pavement stripes on Business 71.

MoDOT’s Newton County Maintenance Activities         

• The Neosho crew is mowing and picking up brush on various routes.
• The crew in Seneca is mowing and picking up brush on various routes.
• MoDOT striping crews are painting pavement stripes on Route 60.
