Route 60 passing lanes - Journagan Construction Co., was awarded the $8.6 million contract to build intermittent passing lanes from Route 37 near Monett to Route 14 near Aurora. Estimated completion date is late fall 2009.

Maintenance Activities

Various routes - Oct. 12-16 - Mowing, maintaining signs, patching pavement and repairing edges.

Barton County

Construction Activities

Route 126/71 interchange - APAC-Missouri, Inc., was awarded the $4.5 million contract to build an interchange at Route 126 and Route 71. Route 126 east of Route 71 is currently closed, and Route 126 west of Route 71 will be closed Aug. 10. Estimated completion date for the project is summer 2010.

Route DD/EE and 71 interchange, and Route V/C and 71 interchanges - Brauer Excavating was awarded the $7.3 million contract to build interchanges at Routes DD/EE and V/C. Estimated completion date for both interchanges is September 2010. On July 16, Route V west of Route 71 was closed.

Route 43 resurfacing - Blevins Asphalt was awarded the $1.2 million contract to resurface from Route 160 south of Liberal to Route 54 north of Moundville. Estimated completion date is Dec. 1, 2009.

Route 71 - Oct. 7-13 - Bridge maintenance near Route H.

Various routes - Oct. 12-16 - Mowing, repairing drainage pipes, picking up trash and maintaining signs.

Bates County

Construction Activities

Route 71 - APAC-Missouri, Inc., was awarded the $3 million contract to resurface from Route 18 to Route A/B near Butler. Estimated completion date is late November 2009.

Route 52 East bridge replacement - Hilty Quarries was awarded the $5.9 million contract to replace the Route 52 East bridge. The detour is Route H to Route BB to Route 52. Estimated completion date is fall 2010.

Maintenance Activities

Route 52 - Sept. 23-Oct. 15 - Resurfacing from Route BB to Route KK and from Route P to Route BB.

Route V - Oct. 14 - Replacing a drainage culvert at Route A.

Routes 18, Y and AA - Oct. 12-16 - Mowing.

Route 52 - Oct. 12-16 - Repairing edges and shoulders.

Various routes - Oct. 12-16 - Mowing and maintaining signs.

Cedar County

Construction Activities

Route N Safe & Sound Bridge Replacement - West Plains Bridge & Grading is replacing the Route N bridge over the Fork of Muddy Creek. The road is closed two miles north of Route NN to one mile south of Route A. The bridge will reopen in late September.

Maintenance Activities

I-44 East - Oct. 13-15 - Bridge maintenance near the Business Loop.

Route 171 South - Oct. 14 - Bridge maintenance near Hall St.

Routes 39, M and N - Oct. 12-16 - Repairing entrance pipes.

Route 43 - Oct. 12-16 - Repairing shoulders.

Various routes - Oct. 12-16 - Mowing, maintaining signs and picking up trash.

Lawrence County

Construction Activities

Route 39/I-44 interchange - APAC-Missouri of Columbia was awarded the $6.3 million contract to replace the bridge with a 5-lane bridge, realign the south outer road and add signals. Estimated completion date is Nov. 25, 2009.

I-44 resurfacing from Route 39 to the Greene County Line - Laying asphalt on the shoulders and replacing guardrail.

Business Loop 44 resurfacing - Resurfacing east of Route 39 North will take place overnight the beginning of the week and during the day west of Route 39 North.

Route 60 passing lanes - Journagan Construction Co., was awarded the $8.6 million contract to build intermittent passing lanes from Route 37 near Monett to Route 14 near Aurora. Crews should begin laying asphalt around Aug. 11. Estimated completion date is late fall 2009.

Construction Activities

Route H erosion stabilization - Bennett, Inc., was awarded the $218,316 contract to stabilize the embankment southwest of Pineville. Estimated completion date is Oct. 16, 2009.

Maintenance Activities

Route 59 - Oct. 12-16 - Cleaning out ditches.

Various routes - Oct. 12-16 - Mowing.

Newton County

Construction Activities

Intersection Improvements at 32nd and Main Streets in Joplin - APAC-Missouri was awarded the $2 million contract to widen the intersection. Estimated completion date is Nov. 2009.

Maintenance Activities

I-44 West - Oct. 15 - Bridge maintenance on the Shoal Creek bridge near Route 43.

St. Clair County

Construction Activities

Route 52 resurfacing - Hilty Quarries was awarded the $404,000 contract to resurface from Route BB to Route 13. Estimated completion date is Oct. 23, 2009.

Route B Safe & Sound Bridge Replacement - Burk Bridge Company was awarded the $793,000 contract to replace the Monegaw Creek bridges. The road is closed until early December.

Maintenance Activities

Construction Activities

Route 43 resurfacing - Blevins Asphalt was awarded the $1.2 million contract to resurface from Route 160 south of Liberal to Route 54 north of Moundville. Estimated completion date is Dec. 1, 2009.
