Plans to Rebuild the Glenstone Avenue Pavement
In Various Locations Focus of Dec. 12 Public Meeting

Springfield, Greene County – Area residents are invited to learn more about plans to rebuild sections of the 1950s-era concrete pavement on Glenstone Avenue in Springfield in 2018 at a December 12 public meeting, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Public meeting attendees are invited to talk with and ask questions of MoDOT representatives from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, at the MoDOT Southwest District Office, 3025 E. Kearney Street in Springfield. The meeting will be come-and-go style with NO FORMAL PRESENTATION planned.

At the public meeting, attendees can view plans for rebuilding the concrete pavement in four separate locations on Glenstone Avenue between Grand Street and I-44.

Those unable to attend the December 12 public meeting can view the same exhibits at an online public meeting at www.modot.org/southwest. The online meeting will be available starting on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 12.

The four locations on Glenstone Avenue are:

  • Between Lombard Street and Page Street
  • North of Commercial Street underneath the railroad bridge
  • At Kearney Street
  • At Evergreen Street near I-44

The pavement rebuild project will take place using lane closings for extended periods of time. There are NO plans to completely close Glenstone Avenue to do the work. However, side streets may be closed at times and right and left turns on Glenstone Avenue will be restricted at times.

The estimated total project cost is $3.7 million.

The Glenstone Avenue pavement rebuild will take place between spring and fall of 2018.
