Public Invited to Meeting to Learn about Expected Traffic Impacts During
Interchange Project At Route 60 and Greene County Routes NN/J

Greene County - People interested in the expected traffic impacts during the construction of a new interchange on U.S. Route 60 at Greene County Routes NN and J between Springfield and Rogersville are invited to a public meeting on Thursday, June 25,  the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The open house-style public meeting will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on June 25 at Fellowship Bible Church at 4855 S. Farm Road 205.  The church is located north of Route 60.  No formal presentation is planned.

MoDOT representatives along with contractor employees will be available to answer questions about traffic impacts during the project which is scheduled for completion by November 1, 2016.

During much of the rest of 2015, drivers may experience short-term closings of Route NN and Route J at times to allow contractor crews to build connections between the state routes and the future interchange.  No traffic impacts are expected for the rest of the year on Route 60.

During 2016, drivers can expect occasional lane closings on Route 60 during lower traffic volume times.

Here's a look at the project:

  • Build an interchange on Route 60 east of the existing at-grade intersection with Greene County Routes NN/J
  • Build a new section of westbound Route 60 between Greene County Farm Roads 205 and 193
  • Convert a portion of the existing westbound lanes of Route 60 to an outer road between Farm Road 195 and Route J

Emery Sapp and Sons of Columbia is the contractor doing the work on the project.

The total project cost is $15.1 million.

The project is scheduled for completion by November 1, 2016.
