Christian County - A project to add turn lanes and a new traffic signal at the intersection of Route 14 and Cheyenne Road between Nixa and Ozark is scheduled to begin the week of March 17, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.Drivers can expect crews and equipment close to traffic. If lane closings are needed, the work will take place mostly at night or at times when traffic volumes are lower.
Nighttime lane closings will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
During the week of March 17, crews will clear trees and brush. Much of the work will take place away from traffic. Once widening work begins, lane closings can be expected.
The project also includes resurfacing Route 14 between Christian County Route M in Nixa and Christian County Route W east of Ozark. This work will take place later in the spring.
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.Contractor Prime Contractor: Blevins Asphalt Construction Company, Mount Vernon Construction Cost: $1.8 million Completion: Aug. 1, 2014. (Although, the project is expected to be completed much sooner than that.)
