Route 13 Widening Project: Branson West to Kimberling City
Update for Week of Aug. 13-17, 2012

Work scheduled:

  • Paving in various locations between Joe Bald Road in Kimberling City and Business 13 at Branson West
  • Paving an outer road along Route 13 near Rollin Acres Road
  • Building entrances and shoulders along Route 13 between Rollin Acres Road and Business 13 at Branson West
  • Spreading grass seed and mulch in areas between Rollin Acres Road and Business 13 in Branson West
  • Installing traffic signals and street lighting at various intersections between Joe Bald Road and Business 13 in Branson West

Traffic Impacts:

  • NIGHT WORK: Lane closings in areas along Route 13 between Joe Bald Road in Kimberling City and Business 13 at Branson West. Work hours: 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday and possibly Friday.
  • TEMPORARY BYPASS: Route 13 traffic shifted to temporary bypass just north of Stoneridge near Rollin Acres Road. Speed limit reduced to 35 mph in bypass.
  • Large equipment entering and leaving other work areas
  • Work zone speed limit in areas: 35 mph

(Weather or construction delays could alter the work schedule.)

Project Summary:

  • Widen Route 13 to four lanes between Branson West and Joe Bald/James River Road
  • Relocate a one-mile section of Route 13 west of Stoneridge
  • Install new traffic signals at Route 13 and Business 13 at the south edge of Branson West
  • Build right-turn and left-turn lanes in various locations
  • Build two new bridges

-- Route 13 at the south edge of Stoneridge

-- Armadillo Lane over new Route 13 at Stoneridge

  • Resurface existing Route 13 through Stoneridge business district
  • Resurface Route 13 between Joe Bald/James River Road and the Kimberling City bridge
  • Prime contractor: Journagan Construction of Springfield
  • Project cost: $11.5 million

Scheduled completion: December 2012
