Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is MoDOT replacing this bridge?

A: The bridge deck is in poor condition.

Q: Are you closing the bridge permanently?

A: No, we are only closing the bridge for the length of time it takes to remove and replace the deck. This bridge will be closed 30-40 days.

Q: When will you do the work?

A: We plan to start construction in the summer of 2012. Once the road is closed the contractor must have it back open within the calendar days set in the contract. The contractor will be charged liquidated damages if the project is closed beyond that time limit.

Q: How wide will the new bridge be?

A: It will be appoximately the same width as the old one, which is 24 feet.

Q: How much traffic does this bridge carry?

A: The average daily traffic is 115 cars per day. Eleven percent are trucks.
