One location along James River Freeway (Route 60) between Kansas Expressway and Campbell Avenue qualifies for a sound reducing wall.
MoDOT would like for people to comment on the proposed sound wall which will be a part of a larger project to add an auxiliary lane in each direction along James River Freeway (Route 60) connecting the ramps between the Kansas Expressway and Campbell Avenue interchanges in Springfield.
As a part of the lane addition project, MoDOT conducted a sound study to see if the increased number of lanes would create more road noise. Three locations were studied, but only one location met the criteria for the construction of a sound wall.
MoDOT held a public meeting on Thursday, Jan. 24, at Remington's at 1655 W. Republic Road in Springfield where MoDOT engineers presented information on the criteria used to determine the need for a sound wall.
For those who were unable to attend the public meeing, here are the items that were presented at the meeting. Please look over the items and then give us your comments on the proposal.
