Route O Bridge Replacement - Public Meeting - Online Information



The Missouri Department of Transportation will replace the Route O bridge over Spring River south of Route D in the spring or summer of 2012.

Q: Why this bridge?

A: This 188-foot bridge, built in 1935, is in poor shape. The steel truss needs to be replaced.

Q: When will it be closed?

A: MoDOT plans to award the contract in March 2012 and to close the bridge sometime that summer.

Q: How long will the bridge be closed?

A: We anticipate between 60 and 90 days.

Q: How long will the detour be?

A: Using state routes, it will be nine miles.

Q: What about the bridge on Route D over Spring River? It looks bad too.

A: That bridge is part of MoDOT's statewide Safe & Sound Bridge program and is scheduled to be replaced this year.
