Median crossovers should be removed to improve safety and provide smoother traffic flow on the heavily traveled Route 67 in St. Francois County.
What’s the solution?
MoDOT plans to build an interchange at Route 67 and Old Orchard Road and remove the existing crossovers. Three plans are being presented for public comment to achieve that goal. Crossovers will be closed at the completion of the first phase of construction regardless which option is chosen. The right-in, right-out sequence varies depending on which option is chosen.
Where does it stand now?
A contract was awarded in early 2008.
What happens next?
Construction is expected to get underway this spring.
