Route 72 Improvements

What's the problem? Traffic has outgrown the aging Route 72 in Madison, Bollinger and Cape Girardeau Counties. What's the solution? MoDOT plans to resurface, widen, and add paved shoulders. The project would also replace some aging bridges and make intersection improvements. Where does it stand now? Improvements in Madison and Bollinger Counties have been funded. Public meetings to gather input on the project were held. What happens next? Several contracts have been awarded with work already completed in some areas.
