The Missouri Department of Transportation is wrapping up a planning study that is examining what improvements are needed for Route 34 from Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau west to the intersection of Route 60 in Carter County.
MoDOT is looking at ways to improve the 85-mile stretch of Route 34 to improve safety, road alignments and lessen traffic congestion.
Public hearings were held in June in Piedmont, Marble Hill and Burfordville.
